Okay, first off, before you even create your wallet, download the extension and pin it to your browser toolbar. Why? Because digging through the puzzle piece menu every single time sucks. Hit "Create New Wallet." Make a strong password-something you'll remember but not stupid obvious. This just unlocks the extension on this device. Not your seed phrase.
Then it spits out your seed phrase. 12 or 24 words. Write 'em down on paper. Real paper. Not your phone notes, not a screenshot. Why does this matter? That's your only way back in if you lose your device. Lose the phrase? Gone forever. I usually scribble mine twice, hide one copy in a drawer. Click continue after you verify it by typing it back.
Your balance shows zero at first. Scroll down-tokens, NFTs, all empty. But hey, that's normal. In my experience, newbies panic here thinking it's broken. It's not.
Grab the app from App Store or Google Play-link's on phantom.app. Open it, pick "Create New" or "I already have a wallet." If syncing from desktop, punch in that seed phrase. Careful with typos. It'll match your balances across devices. Pretty much magic.
Settings? Change language, auto lock timer (I set mine to 1 minute), fiat display like USD. Do it now while empty.
Okay, wallet's live. Need crypto? Two ways: buy direct or send from exchange.

USDC? Same deal. From Binance, whatever. Always double check network: Solana for SOL/USDC on Solana, Ethereum for ETH/USDC there. Phantom handles multiple chains now-toggle in settings.
Buy inside? Hit the dollar icon or "Buy" button. MoonPay pops up. Link card, buy SOL direct. Fees around 3-5% plus network gas (~0.000005 SOL). First time? Verify email, maybe ID. Slow but works. I use it for quick tests.
Got SOL? Want a memecoin? Swap's built in. Click "Swap" top of wallet popup. Pick from (SOL), to (whatever, search it). It'll quote via Jupiter or whatever aggregator. Slippage? Set to 0.5% for normals, 5% for volatile shit.
Fees: ~0.000005 SOL gas + tiny swap fee (0.1-0.3% usually). Review, hit swap. Confirms in seconds. History shows it all-tap token for tx list.
What's next? Price impact high? Smaller amount. I once swapped during pump-lost 2% to slippage. Annoying, but live and learn.
Perps? Phantom's got a trading tab now. Leverage stuff. Risky as hell-don't if new.
Send: Pick token, "Send," paste address, amount. Always "Max" minus a tiny bit for gas. Preview. Sign. Done in 2 seconds.
Common fuckup: Copy paste wrong. Triple check first/last few chars. Or use QR code scan.

See? Fees vary by chain. Solana's the cheapest. Ethereum? Wait for low gas times.
Magic Eden, Jupiter, Raydium-hit "Connect Wallet" on site. Pick Phantom. It pops up-pick account, sign. No seed phrase needed.
Scam alert: Fake sites mimic real ones. URL wrong? Bail. Never approve blind signatures. "Infinite approval"? Revoke on revokemetokens.com or Phantom settings.
In my experience, first connect feels sketchy. It's not-Phantom shows exact details.
Got SOL? Stake it. Earn 6-8% APY. Click SOL balance > "Stake." Pick validator (biggest = safest), amount. Delegate. Unstake anytime, but 2-day cooldown.

Got NFTs? "Collectibles" tab. View, send, list on Magic Eden.
Buy? Connect to market, approve buy. Gas same as swaps.
Display? Customize home screen-pin favorites.
SOL to ETH? "Bridge" tab. Pick amount, chain. Wormhole or whatever. Fees ~0.1% + gas. Takes minutes to hours.
Toggle networks: Settings > active networks. Solana default, but ETH, Polygon, Bitcoin now too.
Tx failed? Low gas-add more SOL.
Balance not showing? Wrong chain? Toggle.
Forgot password? Seed phrase import to new wallet.
Mobile/desktop mismatch? Resync seed.
App crash? Update, clear cache.
And yeah, support chat in app. Slow but helpful.
I open Phantom, check balances. Swap if needed. Stake weekly. Connect only trusted DApps.
Portfolio view? Gear > view portfolio. Graphs, total value.
Alerts? Set price notifications in app.
